2015-2017 Cal State LA: Business Administration [Accounting]
Although I graduated from Cal State LA in 2017, my love for accounting started in 1998. That is when I learned double entry accounting on old school paper ledgers and had my first experience setting up a new set of books in QuickBooks. I have also been a business owner for 13 years. I have worked in a CPA's office, overseeing multiple accounts. I was instrumental in the major clean up and new set up for an e-commerce manufacturing company, whose books had been neglected for years. I was able to reconcile nearly $500K worth of discrepancies on the balance sheet, in the first year alone. I was trained to take over for the controller when she retired, and I eventually assumed the lead position of the companies finance team, overseeing all accounting aspects of the business. All of those experiences prepared me for this; helping small businesses like yours.
